T25 Road Trip Tips

After 5 Months on the road with our T25 we’ve made a list of our findings/ learnings to hopefully make your journey that little easier if you ever decide to do something similar. & YES it does still have the original engine!!

1. Get Yourself Some 80KM Speed Limit Stickers

Europe has some steep steep hills and you’re likely to spend some time in the mountains so be prepared to spend a lil time in the slow lane & enjoy the roads back down!

2. Invest in a 180 Day Europe Insurance / Breakdown Cover

If you read the T&C’s, most companies only insure you for up to 90 days and don’t include some countries. We ended up going with Adrian Flux via LVE and they even covered Bosnia & Montenegro. For Albania / Turkey you can buy at the border! Also their breakdown was 100% reliable outside the UK too - 100% recommend.

3. Carry Them Spare Parts

We were told to carry spare parts but what spare parts is the question?!  The beauty of these vans is you can fix most things yourself and save yourself a lot of $$.  For our recommended Spare Parts Click HERE!

4. Got a Problem With Your Van - First Things First, Check a VW Forum !

There’s heaps of T3 / T25 forums - especially on Facebook and there’s about 90% chance someone else has already encountered the same problem & found a resolution on there. So before you ring that break down, check on there!

Some Of Our Faves:

VW T3 ( T25 ) Knowledge Exchange

VW T25 & LT Owners UK

VW T25 New owners Maintenance and Information

& LAST OF ALL - JUST DO IT - THERES ALWAYS A WAY BACK!

We decided to ship our van back from Turkey due to the weather getting colder & it’s fair to say we weren’t very prepared - the shipping from Turkey to UK was only £1,300!!
